Working with Visual Presets and LOOKS

Working with Visual Presets and LOOKS Looking for a new way to work with presets or LOOKs? You’ll find a great new way to see what your presets will look like without even having too apply them. You can now see both LOOKS and presets as useful thumbnail icons.  You’ll see what results each gives without even having to apply it.  Here’s how they work. To use Visual Presets, make sure that the Presets/LOOKs panel is open (if closed click the triangle at the left edge of the screen). Then, open up the Preset Browser to see all of the presets.  By default, they are listed as a text list. To switch to an icon via, click the Browse Presets Visually button. To see the presets in a group, click the disclosure triangle next to the group to view the presets within. You can now scroll through multiple groups to browse presets. When ready to try a preset out, click its thumbnail. Choosing a new preset will change all develop settings except for cropping. If you’d like to modify how a preset is applied, be sure to try out the Strength slider. Drag to the right to increase the strength and to the left to decrease. Besides presets, LOOKs are also much easier to use.  Perfectly Clear’s LOOKs’ technology is powered by lookup tables.  A lookup table remaps the color an image based on a color profile. They’re great for film looks, black and white conversions, and creative color grading.  Browsing LOOKs visually makes them much easier to use. The LOOKs browser makes it easy to see all of the LOOKs you have installed. Make sure the Presets/LOOKs browser is open (if closed click the triangle at the left edge of the screen. Then, open up the LOOKs Browser to see all of the LOOKs. Click the Browse LOOKs Visually button to see thumbnails for each LOOK. Click the disclosure triangle next to a group to view the LOOKs within.  You can scroll through the list to see all of the LOOKS. To try a LOOK out, click its thumbnail. Choosing a new LOOK will only change the LOOK of the image.  All develop settings, and cropping stays the same. You can also click on a selected LOOK again to turn it off. To change the intensity of a LOOK, use the LOOKs slider to refine it.  Drag to the right to increase the strength and to the left to decrease. If you’d like to add additional LOOKs and presets, that’s easy.  Switch back to list view, and you can click the Buy More button.  You’ll be taken to an online gallery of additional free and for sale presets. Be sure to also use list view if want to save new presets, import presets, or manage groups.  You’ll find additional tutorials on managing presets on our website.
