Cashman Photo Enterprises is the largest photographic entity in Nevada with over 14 locations in Las Vegas and Reno. We photograph an average of 10,000 – 15,000 weddings per year with 90% of our sales appointments occurring the next morning. Frequently Asked Questions about how Perfectly Clear LAB works
- Where in my LAB workflow does Perfectly Clear go? Perfectly Clear LAB fits at the front end of your workflow. When you receive photos from your customers you simply drop them (or have it set up to automatically feed) into a folder of Perfectly Clear and they are automatically all improved with Perfectly Clear corrections. The result is you can impress your customer by showing him how much your processing lab has improved his images.
- Does Perfectly Clear always apply all of its corrections? What if some photos are already good, will Perfectly Clear reduce the quality of the photo? Perfectly Clear LAB is sophisticated enough to detect the quality of the photo it is working with. For example, if the photo is already well exposed, Perfectly Clear’s Perfect Exposure algorithm detects that and does NOT apply itself to the image. In each case Perfectly Clear detects which if any or all of its 15 corrections to apply to a particular photo.
- How does the Perfectly Clear LAB software apply to different types of images? For example, my Photo Lab processes school photos, and sport photos and general photos from the public, but we also process pro shots, some of whom specialize in night time photography, weddings and other special situations. The power of Perfectly Clear LAB is that the science embodied in Perfectly Clear enables you to set and save “presets” for different types of situations. A separate channel (hot folder) can be created for each preset. For example, in the case of portraits exposure isn’t always the main issue, so you can create a preset which best reflects Perfectly Clear output for your type of portraits. Or you can have special Perfectly Clear settings for sport shots. Perfectly Clear is completely customizable to suit your customer photo input and the type of printers you print to. There are no limitations to the number of preset configurations you can save. Each preset saved can be identified with a particular hot folder. So when a customer comes in with sports photos you drop them into your “Sports Folder” with the preset you have determined is best for those types of shots. Then if the next customer hands you wedding photos you can simply drop their photos into your “Wedding Folder”, and so on.
- If I print my photos on a mini-lab will the mini-lab ruin the Perfectly Clear LAB corrections by trying to apply its own enhancements? This question is specific to your mini-lab, but generally speaking mini-labs have an option which enables you to disable their “enhancement” algorithms so that you can print the Perfectly Clear photos.
